\u2022 Denise Stenberg Scholarship Fund<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Fort Bragg Mendocino Coast Historical Society is pleased to announce the founding of a new scholarship for history students.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Denise Stenberg Memorial Scholarship will be used to assist history students in financing their education. The scholarship will be awarded yearly to coincide with high school graduations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Denise Stenberg was a teacher at Fort Bragg High School for over 35 years. She was also an author of local history. Glen Blair The End of the Line<\/em> was her first book, published in 2009. Beyond the many organizations she belonged to and served, the Native Daughters of the Golden West and the Fort Bragg Mendocino Coast Historical Society were right up her historical alley. She managed the Guest House Museum for the Society for more than a few years and loved being a Docent welcoming people to our Coast and explaining the history she knew so well.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Society is now accepting donations large and small for the purpose of carrying on her legacy and love of history with this scholarship.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Panorama Restoration Project: <\/strong><\/span>to preserve historic photographs by making new archival prints of them.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 FB-MCHS Building Fund: <\/strong><\/span>The Fort Bragg-Mendocino Coast Historical Society maintains and actively seeks donations for a Building Fund, to assist with both long-range and immediate needs. Immediate needs would encompass repairs or modifications for the Guest House Museum which are not currently covered by the City of Fort Bragg in its agreement with the Historical Society. For the long term, the Society seeks to build or purchase a building to house the Historical Society\u2019s constantly expanding archives. The donation of a small building or other suitable space for that purpose would also be welcome.<\/span><\/p>\n
